This restaurant is not far from Parliament and the perfect place to discover the Hungarian cuisine in Budapest. Its clients are mainly locals during lunch and locals and tourists during diner. Its atmosphere is rustic with the wood decoration and its checkered tablecloth.
You will have the opportunity to try traditional dishes such as goulash, lángos, confit duck... You will also be able to choose fish, salads or revisited ratatouille with Hungarian flavors.
The staff is welcoming and speaks very good English. The service is fast.
I will advise you to book if you are planning to eat here one evening in order to make sure you have a spot.

The Halkakas is not very far from the Szimpla (if you want to have a drink afterwards).
It is a Hungarian food restaurant whose specialty is fish. The cuisine is made from fresh and local products.
You can enjoy sturgeon, catfish or carp. You can really discover fish with different flavors from here.
In addition to quality, quantity is there. I had a hard time finishing my meal because the portions were so large.

Among the things to do in Budapest, eating at Börze should be one of your priority.
This restaurant is from far the biggest culinary crush that I got in Budapest. This restaurant has a "Bistro" atmosphere where you feel good.
You will discover a chicken supreme stuffed with herb butter-cheese with creamy mushroom ragout, and homemade pasta, trout en papillote with soy-braised vegetables or homemade cordon bleu with gouda cheese...
I did not taste all the plates in the menu yet. However, I have never been disappointed so far.
Quantities served are huge. That's why I am used to sharing the dessert. My advice is to let you convince by the desserts even if you are quite full. They are yummy and lighter than you think!
The staff is also really attentive to your needs.
The little extra: The reworked cordon bleu is a delight !
